We invited select partners and customers for an Appfarm Intro Course & Hackathon to get their developers and our new interns up and running in Appfarm Create. It became our biggest training session yet.
“The response was fantastic, we ended up with 29 participants from 19 different organizations,” says Thomas Hesselberg, Head of Developer Success at Appfarm.
The objective of the course is for the participants to learn the basics of Appfarm Create, while having a fun experience building applications on the platform. Based on feedback from the participants, it seems like this was achieved:
“I feel like Jimi Hendrix when he discovered the electric guitar. This is the tool for me.”
– Terje Ballestad, Intro Course & Hackathon Participant
The course was completed with a Hackathon, where the participants were divided into teams and presented with a problem they had to solve using Appfarm Create. The task? Create an MVP app that can contribute to employee well-being.
MVP apps in 12 hours
After two days of introductory training, the teams created MVP applications with several different functions – in only 12 hours
"This is a true testament to how powerful, yet easy, Appfarm Create is to use, and how much time can be saved developing with no-code – all without compromising the quality or complexity of the solution."
– Kristian Mella, VP Product Ecosystem & Lead Architect at Appfarm.
Congrats to all participants on a no-code job well done!

The Intro Course and Hackathon is divided into three sections:
Appcademy Intro course and exercises: The participants go through a web-based intro course with related exercises. Experts from Appfarm will be available for questions and clarifications in break-out rooms.
Teaching sessions: Three different sessions are held by experts from the Appfarm Team. The sessions use examples from apps created by the Appfarm Solutions team, and highlight subjects that are important in becoming an efficient Appfarm developer.
Hackathon: The participants are divided into groups of 2-3, and presented with a problem to be solved by developing an MVP app. The remaining time is then spent coming up with an idea and developing a solution. Experts from Appfarm are available for questions and clarifications. On the final day, the groups present their applications.
